Meet Our Sponsor: The Gables Mag – Telling the Story of Our City
Behind every great Coral Gables business is a story—one of passion, perseverance, and a deep love for this community. That’s certainly true for Tony and Tina Sayago, the husband-and-wife duo behind THE Gables Mag, one of our proud Foodie Fan sponsors for this year’s Taste the Gables.
Champions of the Gables, Tony and Tina have a combined 40+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, and hospitality. Tony, who was raised in the Gables, shares many fond memories, which include swimming at the Venetian Pool, playing soccer at the Youth Center, and biking through the tree-lined streets that make Coral Gables so iconic. Tina, originally from Michigan, brings a powerhouse hospitality background, with various roles at top brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Renaissance Hotels, InterContinental Hotels, and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Together, their shared passion for local business and community connection led to the creation of In The Gables Magazine in 2008, born from Tony’s desire to contribute to his community by giving a platform for small businesses to connect with locals during a difficult economic time. Over the years, this unique community resource has evolved into THE Gables Mag, but its mission remains unchanged: to unite the community, foster connections, and strengthen the Gables.
With a bi-monthly direct mail distribution of over 20,000 residences and businesses, THE Gables Mag isn’t just a magazine: it’s a community connector. In it, you’ll find familiar faces, new & old businesses, local events, and inspiring advice columns that reflect the heart of the City Beautiful. For Tony and Tina, the magazine isn’t a job, it’s a calling. Their values of respect, honesty, credibility, and integrity guide everything they do, and it’s that authenticity that has earned them the trust of so many local businesses and readers alike.
We’re proud to have THE Gables Mag as part of this year’s Taste the Gables celebration. After all, they’ve been telling the story of Coral Gables for over 15 years—and we can’t wait to see what they’ll share next.
